Spatial relationships-Hypergraph
The studio is interested in defining and creating a generic method for the articulation of immaterial habitation relationships, from which design can be derived.
The Hypergraph, abstracts architectural conventions and brings to basics the very familiar daily activities and their relation to space and objects; elements such as human activities, surfaces and their attributes, as well as environmental elements are represented as icons. Desired relationships between elements; degrees of visibility and privacy; acoustic attributes and proximities are proposed, depending on a projects’ specific relational requirement.
The Hypergraph provides an abstract platform aiding in freeing the design from formal pre-conceptions. Use of the Hypergraph in the context of an actual design process was tested and evaluated in: Generated geometry phase 2
